I'm Patrick Christell and I'm on a mission to help YOU rapidly transform into the brightest, most effective, most prosperous version of yourself by applying the timeless principles of epic storytelling structure to your life.Welcome to:
StoryChanging™
HERO, have you ever felt...
Off track?Broken?Oppressed by time, finances, your boss, or the "narrative?"Like a pawn in someone else's game instead of the king or queen in your own?
those are all STORIES
As DNA is the transmission frequency for human life, stories are transmission frequencies for the human soul.Stories are:how we communicate. How we transact. How we transmit wisdom. How we express love. How we dream.Stories are how we find our way.
Everything gets lost to the sands of time, except for ** stories.**As human beings, we are living a collective story on planet Earth. To say that stories are powerful doesn't even scratch the surface. And what are the most powerful stories of all?
the stories we tell OURSELVES
Your life equals the sum total of all the stories you have internalized up until this moment. Some serve you:
(+)I'm great with people! Or (+)I'm lucky!Some don't:
(-)I always screw things up. Or (-) I'm bad with money. Some of your stories aren't even yours-- some were given to you by your parents, your parent's parents, a news producer at a multinational media conglomerate, or a village elder in a far-off country a thousand years ago...What if I told you there was a way to quickly change your life story into an epic narrative that results in an exciting, fulfilling life?
enter STORYCHANGING™️
Storychanging™️ is a pathbreaking actualization paradigm that unlocks the most actionable mystic secrets of the last five-thousand years and fashions them into a sword you can use to hack the vines away from your true path, develop the courage to walk that path, and eventually slay your personal dragon(s) so you can bring the Elixir back from the Special World to heal your tribe.
What? how does it work?
Storychanging™️ is a process, a modality, and a deep esoteric toolset as much as it is a multidimensional vehicle designed to traverse the metaverse of storytelling. It will help you replace stories that weaken with stories that embolden and empower. It will help you organize those stories into an epic narrative of your own design, opening the door to scenes, choice points, and entire quests that once seemed impossible. You will learn how to phase-shift between hero and creator of your life story-- giving you agency over situations that previously seemed uncontrollable or that you took "for granted."Beyond changing your life quickly and irrevocably, exposure to Storychanging™️ will make you a fantastic storyteller, giving you the best insurance you could possibly have against the coming upheval. Most of all, you will finally address that which was holding you back so you can get on with living:
the LIFE of your DREAMS
Picture yourself standing at a misty mountain pass, brandishing your sword and shield, filled with awe at the size of the peaks before you, and the grand adventure they imply.
Hand on the hilt of your sword, you glance back down toward the valley, and the comfort of the ordinary world. Your gaze returns to the path ahead. The mist parts, revealing the mouth of A MYSTERIOUS CAVE.You have arrived at your first:
CHOICE POINT
my STORY SO FAR...
In 2007, I was a "hot" screenwriter. After my first major script sale and against the advice of my agent, I flew to the mountain-locked African nation of Lesotho to direct a documentary about the staggering HIV/AIDS rate and the lack of native speaking physicians there.I had never heard the terms “brain drain” or “seroprevalence” before, and knew next to nothing about the socioeconomics of disease.Little did I know I would dedicate the next eighteen months of my life to creating a film that ultimately brought native doctors back to Lesotho, saving countless lives. It was then that I understood that stories can do far more than just deliver entertaining epiphanies...
stories could CHANGE THE WORLD.
By reading this far, you have unlocked another choice point. A third path, if you will.It turns out I love connecting with other travelers. Especially creatives.Reach out below for a short (>30 minute) FREE virtual fireside chat. No obligation, no agenda.Just you, me, and your story.
Or, continue on...
if you are a SUPERSTAR SOLOPRENEUR...
I can deploy a seamless fusion of epic story structure and design skills to help you nail your brand identity (aka your niche), craft your origin story to be more compelling than mine, create laser-cut customer archetypes, and out of that, architect an entertaining, addictive funnel that scales and converts.Or I can teach you to do these things for yourself, so you can bottle, package and ship the secret sauce.
if you are a WRITIST...
There is a bar for excellence. It is almost insurmountably high. It's impossible to know where it is unless you've been there. It can be summed up in a single word:Undeniable. To make a long story short, I can help you create undeniable work.To make a short story long, I can polish, buff, spackle, craft or crack your story. I can help you create a resonant structure or anti-structure with a gripping (nega)second act that actually pays off(even if you’re trying for the Dogme 95 version of L'avventura meets Everything, Everywhere All At Once).Collaborations are possible, but will most likely be very, very rare.In sum...
i can make you a BRILLIANT STORYTELLER, OR...
deploy the principles of storytelling to make YOU BRILLIANT
for the curious, my EXTENDED BIOGRAPHY
When I was two years old, I saw Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. After that, it was game over for any other vocation. Fast-forward to my senior year of college -- I landed a coveted internship at the pathbreaking independent studio, Good Machine (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Happiness) I then worked for Wes Anderson (Rushmore, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Scott Rudin Productions (The Truman Show, There Will Be Blood), then spent time as a year at Vanity Fair magazine, working directly for then editor-in-chief Graydon Carter, learning the ropes of print journalism from the best in the business. After that, I joined the acquisition department at NBCUniversal’s prestige “shingle” Focus Features (Brokeback Mountain, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). Collectively, these experiences gave me the chance to work alongside some of the finest minds in the storytelling business. After trading in my coveted drive-on pass for a copy of Final Draft, I wrote a number of speculative “spec” screenplays in different genres before a big studio (Lionsgate) finally bought one. After my experience in Lesotho, I continued to write, took a plethora of assignments, studio-level rewrites and collaborations, notably among them co-adapting the work of iconic authors Ellmore Leonard (Pagan Babies) and John Irving (The Fourth Hand), as well as finally getting the chance to write and direct my first feature-length narrative film. I wrote seventeen screenplays, all told. Four of them are undeniable. Not the first four. After I depleted the financial means to continue on as an independent director/producer, I left the movie business to work as a technical sourcer (a career sub-specialization of recruiting), mentored by, and working alongside the man who created the discipline, Shally Steckerl. I learned sales, lead generation, and how to find and attract rare talent. I helped scale several tech companies from startups to the SME stage. I believe I had success because I applied what I learned from the world of storytelling to that one. What I am doing now I believe to be the culmination of a certain Hero's Journey in my own path.If you made it this far, molte grazie!
